Welcome to HeightGuessr! These terms explain how you can use heightguessr.com (the “site”), how comments and votes work and what we are responsible for. “We” and “us” means the operator of the site. These terms apply whenever you use the site. When you post a comment, you confirm that you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
Using the site
- Reading the site and playing the game is free and needs no account.
- To post a comment or contact us, you need to be at least 13 years old. If we learn that a comment comes from someone younger, we delete it.
- You can stop using the site at any time.
- If someone misuses the site or breaks these terms, we may remove their contributions and block their access.
Comments and votes
- Comments and votes come from visitors and reflect their own views. You are responsible for what you post, so please share only content you have the right to share.
- Your comments stay yours. You allow us, free of charge and worldwide, to store them and show them on the site. This permission ends when a comment is removed, apart from backup copies, which we keep for a limited time only.
- You can vote once for each celebrity. Votes from the same internet connection count as one. Our own estimate counts as the first vote in every average.
- If you post something that breaks these terms or the law and someone holds us responsible, you cover the resulting claims and reasonable legal costs, to the extent you are at fault.
How we moderate
We love comments about a person’s height, especially ones that point to a photo, an interview or a measurement. Please stay on topic and be respectful toward everyone, including the people on the site. We remove comments that contain:
- insults, threats or hate, including mockery of someone’s height or body,
- spam, advertising or links unrelated to the topic,
- personal information about anyone, such as an address or a phone number,
- content that pretends to come from someone else,
- anything unlawful, such as defamation or material that infringes copyright.
Comments without a link appear right away. Our system holds back comments with a link until we have checked them for spam. A person makes every other decision about comments. We publish comments exactly as written and never edit them. We may remove a comment or a vote at any time, for example when it breaks these terms. Replies marked “Editor” are written by us.
If you gave us your email address with a comment we remove, we tell you why, and you can reply to ask us to look at it again. Spam we delete without notice.
Report a problem
If you think something on the site is unlawful, breaks these terms, infringes your copyright or shares private information about you, please tell us through the contact form or at info@heightguessr.com. Please include:
- the link to the page and the comment or passage you mean,
- why you think it is unlawful or breaks these terms,
- your name and email address,
- a statement that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
For a copyright complaint, please also name your work and confirm that you own it or may act for the owner. We confirm that we received your report, review it promptly and tell you what we decided.
Fair use of the site
To keep the site working well for everyone, you may not:
- vote more than once for the same person, for example with scripts or changing network addresses,
- send votes, comments or messages through bots or other automated means,
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site,
- use the site for anything illegal or harmful to others.
Search engines may crawl the site as set out in our robots.txt. Any other automated collection of our content or data, including for training AI systems, needs our written permission.
Our height estimates
Our heights are estimates and opinions based on the sources we cite on each page. They are meant for general information and entertainment. A person’s real height can differ from our estimate. If you know a better source, please send it to us through the contact form. We update a page when the evidence changes.
Public figures, photos and links
- Names and photos of public figures appear on the site to report and discuss their height. The people on the site have no connection with us and have not endorsed it.
- If you are featured on the site or represent someone who is, you are welcome to send us measurements, sources or corrections. We review every message and update the page when the evidence supports it.
- Photos come from Wikimedia Commons and other sources with free licenses or public domain status. Each photo names its author, license and source and remains under its own license.
- The site links to other websites, for example to the source of a quote. Those websites are run by others, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Our content
The texts, the selection and arrangement of our height data, the game, the design and the HeightGuessr name and logo belong to us. You are welcome to quote short parts with a link to the page. For anything more, please ask us first.
Liability
The site is free and provided as it is. We work carefully, and we cannot promise that the site is always available, complete or free of errors.
We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach a duty that is essential for using the site, and then only for typical damage we could foresee. Otherwise we are not liable for damage arising from the use of the site.
Questions and disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most issues can be solved by email. If you use the site as a consumer, you keep every right that the mandatory laws of your home country give you.
Changes to the site and these terms
We keep improving the site and may add, change or remove features and content at any time. When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page, and the new version applies from that date. If a change is significant, we also point it out on the site. If the site gets a new operator, these terms and the permissions you gave us pass to them. If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in effect.
